While this book might have fallen victim to my level of distraction in life, I do think the pacing is off. Kicking off as a thriller investigating the death of the daughter of an eccentric horror movie director, the book begins delving deeper into the occult. I consumed the first half of this rapidly, but struggled with the last half.
I found the ending rather disappointing and it didn't feel satisfying after the work I put in to finally finish the book. I'm glad I read it, and I can see it working well for others, but not my favorite.
