The Sandman by Neil Gaiman

3.0

The whole first arc of the book was the most interesting one. It all went down after Dream got free, second-half relied heavily on pop-culture references to make a compelling story, also the whole Romantic aspect of the book seemed forced and eventually led to a very bleak finale.

Death's wrath was heavily foreshadowed throughout the first arc but when she finally showed up, her friendly nature (not of any fault of its own) was too underwhelming considering how much built-up she got.

It did not feel gripping enough for me to listen to the second act, but I strongly look forward to the Netflix series.
