Kingdoms and Chaos by Kel Kade

4.0

This installment was sooo much better than the previous book in the series. Rezkin, his friends & allies fight to make Cael a recognized kingdom to the Gendishen kingdom which results in going after a sword of prophesy. This book felt like a Dungeons & Dragons adventure as "the party" goes from place to place being told that if you want recognition of your country you're going to have to do THIS for me. The pace of the book was excellent as Kade's story propelled you forward with plenty of action & humour, plus just a touch of romance. Many of the characters relationships & interactions, Malcius begin to work thru his anger with Yserria over the loss of Palis. Tieran gains more maturity & better depth of character. Frisha is still just too damn whiny, but does begin to resolve her feelings. Tam is really flourishing as Rezkin's apprentice, but inadvertently lands himself in deep trouble. There were some interesting revelations to Rezkin & his past. There are still plenty of surprises as the whole of this story unfolds.
