Did not finish book. Stopped at 59%.

This is well written, an interesting story, good characters, but it's so damn long, and so slow. Nothing really happens for the first 400 pages. It's incredibly descriptive, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but as much as I love reading long books, I need stuff to get going a bit quicker than that. The fact that this is only the first in a trilogy was the nail in the coffin for me. If I thought I was going to get closure, I might have carried on.
