Margaret Rogerson's writing is very emotive and beautiful--I really enjoyed this book in regards to its style, tone and voice all because of the author's exquisite writing.

At the same time, I felt that the story was a bit stagnant, static even, as not so many things happen apart from the beginning which then, gives its way to scenes that somehow feel muddied and even boring.

I think that what was missing from this book was tension and external stakes and better worldbuilding--it feels like the author simply took two characters out of a world, wrote their romance story, and she didn't get deeper than that.

It was a quick, feel-good read and the voice artist was excellent, but for a book to be memorable it shouldn't be just a window to an event in a world, it is a chain of events that permits character growth, smart worldbuilding and high tension, no matter the genre
