Black Panther, Vol. 1: A Nation Under Our Feet, Book 1 by Ta-Nehisi Coates

3.0

"It is not enough to be the sword. You must be the intelligence behind it."

I’m not a big comic book reader but I gave this one a go because Ta-Nehisi Coates wrote it. It’s a story about Black Panther when basically everything is going wrong - his people are revolting, his sister is gone, and his confidence is waning. The art is beautiful and the words are poetic if not too metaphorical, and some of the symbolism went over my head. But it was an enjoyable read nonetheless and I’ll continue the series.
