It’s a fortress by the sea in Cornwall. And Nyarlahotep is associated with an ancient Outside force. Humans call it the god of chaos. And also, the Masters still haven’t arrived yet, because of dimensional barriers
This series has changed since the first few novels, which had the plot of: “Look, we’re in a Weird town. Gnarly murders have been committed by human-monster hybrids, and we’re going to stop them.”
Instead, these last books in the series are telling us “NOW WE NEED TO SAVE THE ENTIRE WORLD”
However, (As usual), evil human cults cause problems that bring the alien outsider “Masters” closer than ever. If you join said cult, your orifices will sprout tentacles. What an amazing incentive, let me tell you
