this book hurt me because it had a few very cool concepts squandered by the book being way longer than it should have been which utterly fucked the horror because you'd have scenes of really intense hallucinations and horrors followed by the main character sleeping and us jumping a month ahead and never thinking about it. Also the reveal was cool, yes, and it made a lot of things cooler in retrospect, but I feel like if the book needs to be reread to be fully appreciated maybe it's not as good as it thinks. I would have loved it shorter, with more focus on a few things, rather than long and focusing on too many things. I also think her relationship with her mom should have been better established for the end to hit like I think it was meant to. Honestly if they had picked her relationship with her mother, or with the Harrow Witch, I think the emotional depth of the book could have been aided immensely.
