The Snowman by Jo Nesbø

2.0

There's both a lot and nothing to dissect here. I was expecting more of a psychological thriller, but it followed all of the cliche mystery tropes. Discussion about animal behaviors to muse about human behavior is always hilarious. Each character was one dimensional in their motivations and actions. I guessed the killer a quarter of the way in and then waded through the side suspects. And good God, Nesbo cannot write a woman character to save his life. A woman who is normally cool and calculated has an outburst and then says "sorry, I'm on my period" like are we in the 1800s again? Maybe one day I'll find a decent mystery book that's not Christie or Doyle.
