Audiobook : Narrator India Baldwin was so great.

The first five hours were really good, 4.5 star good. For the first time in a long time I found myself laughing aloud to many of the scenarios- (the consummation, cucumbers, dressing horses, etc). Unlike many others, I actually found Rosamund’s naïveté believable, she grew up with Nuns after all; or at least understandable. There are plenty of books with... well, frankly, dumb female leads despite schooling and traveling the world- this wasn’t that.

Why only 3 stars? :
1) The male lead was the literal worst. Jealous, overbearing, and with so little character development there was nothing to even like / cushion the typical ‘well this is how all men were back then’ justifications. Sorry you were cheated on. Doesn’t mean you get to hate everything and everyone and just be a jerk and have readers like you. He just sucked. I didn’t root for him.
