The Body Where I Was Born by Guadalupe Nettel

emotional reflective medium-paced

4.0

I feel like I’ve read so many of these - adroit and emotionally true novels that don’t really have a shape. I know that’s a feature of autofiction, and lord knows I don’t enjoy reading words on rails. But while I loved a lot of it, I ended up a little unsatisfied, feeling like Nettel didn’t find a new angle on the “the book referenced is the book you’re reading right now” plotting.
