The Lost World by Michael Crichton

medium-paced

4.25

"These big-brained, totally helpless children changed society."

Another beautifully written book in the Jurassic Park universe. The only reason it's not 5 stars, is cause it got a bit tedious around 3/4 in. But again, Crichton created well rounded characters that interact with each other in a realistic way. The dinosaur lore is interesting, and you can tell he did his research. It has a good balance of comedy to the tragedy. And this time, even included karmic justice.

"For the most part, members of our species simply repeat what they are told—and become upset if they are exposed to any different view."

"It’s a gift to be alive, to see the sun and breathe the air. And there isn’t really anything else."
