An imaginative, beautiful and devastating retelling of Norse mythology. I did not expect to enjoy this so much, it was subdued but everything from the characters, the relationships, and magic were deeply engrossing. What tales I know of the Norse Gods came from Marvel movies, so it was refreshing (and sad) to truly get into the myths and legends. I loved Angrboda, the Iron-Witch and mischievous God Loki, their three children (the source of many tears), additionally Skadi was the kind of badass heroine I will always get behind.

I took no notes. While sad and tragic, the love between a mother and her children, a wife and husband, a woman and her companion, this is the kind of storytelling that stays with you and can appeal to many readers. I highly recommend this one!
