Chandler by Laurelin Paige

5.0

Chandler is book five in the Fixed series. This is one of my favorite series'. The characters just stay with you and when you start to read the next one it's like coming home. I always forget how much I love a Laurelin book until I start one again.  I get all warm and fuzzy because I know I'm going to laugh, sigh, get hot and bothered, get mad, probably cry, laugh more and swoon. It was everything I wanted it to be and more. I finished it in one day and couldn’t put it down!
Chandler is the laid back funny version of Hudson. And don't get me wrong.  I love me some Hudson Pierce. He's one of my original loves.  But Chandler is front and center now. And, come on, brothers… I digress. We've known Chandler for a long time. He has always been a young hot shot with too much money and a penchant for the ladies. He's also reckless and can't seem to keep it in his pants. But he's also squishy on the inside. Falls in love too fast and always gets his heart broken. He's vowed to never let that happen again. Never leave them unsatisfied, but never stay the night. Until he sees her. Genevieve. The sexy British woman he meets at a charity function. He wants her, but she brushes him off but she's the one who eventually propositions him. One night, but he has to leave when it's over. Fine with him! But it's not really. The next day he can't stop thinking about her and he needs to find her. And then there she is. Outside Hudson's office. And she's aloof and distant and says the night they had was just ok. Just ok! Chandler is not a 'ok' lover. He needs another chance to prove it to her. Something about this girl makes him want to take charge. Be rough. Be dominant. That's not like him, but she brings out his inner caveman. She stands firm with her 'no' until he accidentally says a what he wants to do to her, out loud. It's dirty, it's nasty and she loves it. Now he knows how to get to her and he's not backing down. It's so bad it's good. Genevieve is smart, beautiful and she's in the States to go after the job of her dreams. Chandler uses this as leverage to get her to go out with him. He wants to help her and he can. He's part of Pierce Industries after all. He's falling fast and hard for her and he's scared. But he never felt this way about a woman before. When he brings her to meet his family under the guise of talking to Hudson about her career opportunities, some things about Genevieve and her family come to light and they are not good. Chandler starts second guessing everything she's ever said and done. He doubts her. He doubts himself. Will Chandler trust Genevieve and his feelings for her? Does she have an ulterior motive? Oh man. I love this couple! Chandler is smokin' hot and effing hilarious. I love his inner dialogue. Genevieve is sassy, funny, smart and gorgeous. They bring out something special in each other. And not just their desires. They are hot, sexy, funny, sweet, did I day say hot? I'm so glad Laurelin gave us Chandler's story, but now I want more! And of course seeing Hudson again was perfect! I miss him.

"Is this fast?"
"Don't think about it."
"This is fast."
"Fast things aren't bad things."
"But they're often over too quickly."
"Or they're not. The thing is sometimes you don't know how long a stretch of highway is going to be until you get to the end. All you can do is buckle up and enjoy the ride."

"I do not take the blame for you taking off your panties."
"It wasn't like they were doing any good anyway. They practically melted off the minute you showed up looking like a crumpet in your black tie.

Then, in impulse, I pull him in for a hug. Bro style, of course. Nothing too mushy 'cause I’m cool and he's, well, he's Hudson.
