Shaman's Crossing by Robin Hobb

3.0

Three and a half really. Hobb's books almost invariably have a sort of slow burn effect - they start off with lots of world building and ordinary day to day stuff, and I get impatient and wish she'd get on with the story - and then suddenly it's the middle of the night and I really can't put the book down. This was a more difficult read than either the Farseer books or the Liveships. But the world creation is so good, and Hobb is so original in her choice of stories that I am keen to read the next one.
