Curious George by Margret Rey, H.A. Rey

1.0

I never really liked Curious George because my boyfriend's son constantly watches it on Netflix in bed with us, which means I have to watch it (or at least listen to it while I read a book on my tablet) as well. I find TV show George to be a dumbass who doesn't listen to/ignores simple directions and gets himself and a slew of other characters into trouble.

I'm not surprised that he is somewhat the same in the book. The Man in the Yellow Hat seems cruel in the book, though. He deliberately whisked George away from the jungle and took him to the city, where Yellow Hat proceeds to let George smoke a pipe and land himself in jail. I would've thought that if you were ballsy enough to take a wild animal from the jungle, you'd have enough sense to keep that animal contained. If anything, Yellow Hat should be in jail, too.
