Salt of the Earth by Józef Wittlin

3.0

3.5 / This book held a lot of promise and it is a shame that the trilogy it was supposed to comprise the first volume of was never completed. I would have liked to see how Piotr’s story ended. While it wasn’t a very satisfying book in the narrative aspect, it does a good job of showing how disruptive WWI was to these insular, rural communities.
