Murphy's Law by Rhys Bowen

4.0

This was a fun read but I was much more interested in the daily lives of the New York Irish in turn of the century Manhattan than the central mystery that Molly was embroiled in. The mystery wraps up much too quickly and seemed like an afterthought to the struggles of a new immigrant to New York.

I debated between 3 and 4 stars because I feel like the intended point fo the book was missed since the mystery was not engaging but I think it worked so much better as historical fiction that I'd read the second book in the series and see if it keeps up its strong points.
