What the River Knows by Isabel Ibañez
2.0
It was a super slow paced book and didn’t really start to have a good story until half way through the book. It has an interesting enough storyline but it just didn’t do it for me. In the book the main character knows a few languages and it would switch to some words or phrases mostly in spanish, which was her native language, and then switch to english and I kept having to look up what some of the words meant which took away from the story because I didn’t fully understand everything. It had the potential to be great and had the vibes from the movie ‘The Mummy’ but I just was disappointed. Its a Young Adult book and ended on a major cliff hanger that you would have never seen coming but it’s not a book I would personally read again.
