The Buried Pyramid, by Jane Lindskold

5.0

I read this book shortly after it came out, so it's been quite some time, so my memory of the details is basically shot. However, what I do remember is that it is quite a good romp. I love Egypt and am an Archaeology major, so the initial premise really interested me.

Removing oneself from the technical side of reading and plot analysis, etc., the book is fun, mystical, and has that dash of history that many like. Though a part of me frowned at obvious historical inaccuracies, the other half enjoyed the fantastical side. If you just read it and look for the adventure in it, it's good fun, but I can understand how people have said otherwise.

I gave it five stars partially due to the nostalgia factor (I read this when I was younger and was immediately excited I found a book about ancient Egypt) and also because I am a sucker for historical fiction with enough of the mystical to mix it up. Also, a feisty heroine doesn't hurt.
