The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
2.0
This was a frustrating book. I was actually going along with it alright and enjoying myself with it but the last handful of pages as the story was wrapping up fundamentally both changes the "rules" of the world that had been established in the book, and removed most (if not all) of the emotional impact of the child's death.
I had a bit of a spate of books like this - ones with endings so frustrating they spoiled all of my goodwill and interest built up over the first 95%. Hopefully this isn't a long term trend.
