The Night Runs Red by Amber Palmer
4.0
This book was dark, sexy, and mysterious. It has everything you need in a vampire fae forced-marriage romance story.
Calia Darrow and Rion D’Arcy are part of two separate lineages of fae and vampire that are forced to marry due to a curse placed on their families long ago. After she marries, Calia must say goodbye to her fae family and way of life and move into D’Arcy family mansion. Rion is a well-known bachelor who has a different girl each day of the week. He is less than pleased to be marrying Calia and seems to be intent on keeping his paramours on after their nuptials…
After several events targeting the couple, the two realize that there may be someone outside their families that hates their union even more. They have to find out who is making these attempts on their lives before one lands successfully…
The Night Runs Red was such a captivating read, and I can not wait to hear more about Rion and Calia in the next book. Their enemies to lover story was oh so spicy! The family dynamics and politics were also interesting as we learn more of the truth about the Darrow and D’Arcy families and why they operate the way they do. The ending absolutely killed me, so do be prepared for the cliffhanger! I have so many questions and need book 2 immediately!
