First Thought when Finished: Demon Restrained was a brilliantly executed short story! That is coming from a non-fan of short stories :)
Quick Review: Demon Restrained had great action, great characters, and some awesome smexy! Evie was a spectacular leading lady. Usually I am all about the hero but in this case, I truly think Evie was the hero of the story. Overall it was her actions, her smarts, and her gumption that facilitated the break out. She was just hands down brilliant. Bas was very deserving of her even if at the beginning I wasn't sure. He was strong, beautiful, and heartbreaking. I say that because some of his thoughts made my heart break for him. I am really hoping that we get more of Bas and Evies story in the future because I feel there is so much more I want to know. That being said, this is a complete story even for a short. There was great world building and action. I wanted more of course but I did not feel like anything was left out.Final Thought: I know Demon Restrained was the first book written by this author but it doesn't read that way at all! Everyone should give a whirl!
