It´s a bit sad that I can´t add a smiley because the eye-roll smiley would describe my experience with this book perfectly. It´s definitely not the worst YA fantasy I´ve read and I`d once again say that 12-year old me would have been amazed, but in comparison to most of the books I read this year, this one was just so bland.

Also, normally I take my vast experience in this genre into consideration when deciding on a rating, hence I was sure I´d give it 3 stars while reading the first half. It´s just that I completely lost interest near the end and even thought about DNFing this book. I did not care for the characters whatsoever... And the plot also got pretty dumb. 0-8-15 would we say in Germany.

Additionally, the romance is super cliche and typically YA. With a love triangle, a very secretive love interest and of course loads of unnecessary angst and heartache.

That´s basically all I have to say which is, as you can see, not much.
