Dakota Born by Debbie Macomber

4.0

Debbie Macomber is a tried and true author, I usually enjoy her books and have no problems finishing them. That is true in this case as well.

This is the first in a trilogy about a small town in North Dakota called Buffalo Valley. It is a typical small farming community that is dying with people leaving town to find work elsewhere. Then the high school teacher dies leaving an opening and a fear of the town becoming a ghost town. Enter Lindsey whose grandparents lived in this town. She needs a change of scenary and decides to take the position for a year. While there she manages to help get the town excited and coming together for various events. Along the way she also falls in love, but will they be able to come together in the end?
