World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks

5.0

Strikingly relevant, surprisingly uplifting

I reread this in the time of COVID, at least a little for the ghoulish thrill. The early parts are a bit chilling. But later, it becomes unexpectedly comforting - not because Brooks sugarcoats things but because he does. More than heroes and villains, there is meaning in people persevering.
