It just kept getting worse! I expected the two storylines to diverge a lot more, but in the end they were almost identical. I hate stories where every single thing works out in the end, ugh. After reading the viral 3 Jenkins Reid books (which I fucking LOVED) I had some expectations, none of which were met. I deeply disliked Ethan, and I couldn't really see why Hannah and Gabby were such eternal besties. I also disliked the internalized fatphobia, and while it may have made Hannah more relatable, the way it was presented just felt like normalizing such thoughts. And don't get me started on the whole concept of soulmates and fate, another concept of this book I heavily disagree with. I only listened through the whole thing because I kept hoping it'd eventually get better, but no, it was only downhill from the beginning (the part I actually liked). Maybe romance just isn't my genre, but maybe this book could have had more depth in its characters as well.
