I love fantasy, and this book is quintessential fantasy. I enjoyed Faythe, the main character, and her refreshing friendship with her childhood best friend Jakon. They had a very close relationship, more like brother and sister, and it was very cute to read. I liked the introduction to Marlowe and her oracle powers. I loved the idea of nightwalking, and that Faythe can go one step further and read people’s minds.

I did find it ever so slightly predictable, for example Nik being the Prince, but I enjoyed it never-the-less. It was a slightly slower start to a fantasy series, but the world has been steadily introduced and it is clear that the series will have a developed plot. I will absolutely continue with reading the series and I think it will only continue to get better.
