Return of the Trickster by Eden Robinson

5.0

Eden Robinson has written each and every character masterfully. Every. Single. One. Each of them adds something to the story that feels vital, and each has layers of complexity that build, book over book. If you met a character in Son Of A Trickster, they were not that same character in Trickster Drift, and they grew again in Return Of The Trickster. Somehow those often monumental changes never felt forced, but contained a sense of urgency. Like they could do nothing else, because their actions were so true to who they were, even if those actions broke my heart or made me want to yell at them through the pages! It says something for Robinson's writing that her 'Epilogue-ish' felt so incredibly necessary. In those pages she gave us one final glimpse of how her characters move on now that the story is finished. I wish each one of those characters had their own book, and each of their epilogue moments was just an invitation to another Eden Robinson trilogy.
This final book of the series was a violent, heartpounding, spectacular culmination.
