The Summer of Broken Rules is a perfect new-adult summer read. The Fox-Dupre family was extremely lovable and the coastal setting really added an idyllic touch to the book. The excitement of Assassin really increased the intrigue. Although it contained one of my least favorite tropes, (I hate when boys get in the way of friendships) it treated the combination of whirlwind romance and grief so beautifully and realistically. Even the epilogue felt genuine, which I rarely feel. The connection between Wit and Meredith was lovely and I loved reading about the two of them and the Fox-Dupre family.
