Even though the main plot of the book is heavy and dark, the whole thing is treated in a weirdly-nice-and-light way at times: even though you know where the story's gonna go, you keep having hope that it'll get better. And then it gets real sad, and then you ugly cry in a packed metro, holding a book with a sweet lil' dog drawing on the cover. But hey, it's a cry that feels right.
The overall book was a very easy and pleasant read. One thing is sure: I'd definitely recommend it to anybody who owned a pet at some point and who's ready for an huge emotional ride.
