Angel by Janie Crouch

Ah, Gabe. To say I wasn't crazy about Gabe Collingwood in the last Linear Tactical book would be a fair statement, but he did show some redeeming qualities so I was excited to read his story. Gabe is all alpha male and fiercely protective, often to the point of saying and doing the completely wrong thing. At the same time, he loves with his whole heart and reacts without thinking when he thinks he's been betrayed. Jordan is broken and full of self-doubt and recrimination. Life hasn't been good to her, and she doesn't expect anything better. This pair may not be perfect, but they are perfectly right for each other. Of course, it does take them some time to get there, and life throws them a few more curve balls along the way, but the Linear Tactical family protects their own like nobody's business, and family by association is still family. Gabe and Jordan's story is everything I expected and more. It's emotional, steamy, and at times, heartwrenching. Add in the intrigue and action that this author does so well, and it's a well-rounded, solid addition to this series. Angel is part of the Linear Tactical series and past characters do appear in each book, but can be read as a standalone. However, once you've met these wonderful characters, you'll want more of them.
