before reading, i was a little turned off by the fact that persephone is living and working as a mortal. i wouldn’t say this book is anything gripping or outstanding but i really enjoyed reading it!!! it doesn’t have the best writing sometimes but it’s not incoherent and things like simple grammatical errors. i loved hades and i think him and the underworld are what hold this book together. one gripe i have with this book is the writing of the smut… let me clarify, i love reading smut but all except one or two smut scenes were just terrible and funny. i even sent pictures to the groupchat. it would be completely out of nowhere and make no sense and then be over on the very same page. i do think it’s worth the read if you like hades.
the twist in this story is that hades wasn’t a horrible evil man all along and that he’s really just misunderstood. some people didn’t like this but i honestly didn’t mind.
i loved him as a character in this book. interactions with the other characters always feel so forced and like they weren’t really thought out.
