As an adult, I know more about the state of Indian law than I did as a kid, so I know it wouldn’t happen like that. But I also know trying to explain Indian law to kids would be complicated at best, so no sense adding it. I do still feel like Mandie and Tsa’ni regress in their relationship at the start of every new book, then progress and regress again. Overall though, I enjoyed this one. Straightforward and touched on topics like racism. Touched on only though, it doesn’t delve into then or deconstruct them.
