Let Me Burn by Carrie Elks

3.0

A classic ‘boy meets girl, they fall in love and live happily ever after’ featuring a firefighter (because let’s be honest, 80% of the male characters in romance novels are either firefighters (or in the force) or a CEO or some shit like that. And still, I’m reading that book with gusto !

Be careful, spoilers underneath !

Lucas is moving back to his hometown because witnessed some heavy shit in a car crash. He meets Amber, a local teacher who swore off all men because she just got dumped by her ex fiancé. They meet and spark flies !

I have to admit I usually like a bit more of ‘drama’ in romance novels, because even though this book was enjoyable, it was kinda boring too… The main characters were great together, they had trauma they had to go through but I feel like they lacked passion ? There wasn't a huge fight or break up ! They parted ways for like a week and then got back together ! So yes, enjoyable, but nothing special !

BUT I read the synopsis about the other books in this series and they really intrigued me ! I loved Ally and Brooke (Amber’s friends) and Jackson and Griff (Lucas’s friends) so yeah I will totally read all the serie (or as much as I can get)
