I'd heard so many amazing things about this book and was worried it wouldn't live up to the hype - I was wrong. So very wrong.
The world building was subtle but impressive, and even though the Clecanians and their world are similar to ours, it's different enough that you really get a sense of Jade struggling to realise she was trapped in an alien world and that things were not the same as earth.
Theo is just... lets just say, we love a alien who is hurt, brooding, dark, full of emotions that never see the surface and can cook...
The story is definitely for the ladies, because his utter devotion to ensuring Jade is looked after and putting her first in all ways is such a rush for the reader, you immediately want to experience it first hand. This book definitely does the 'touch her and die' trope perfectly.
But first and foremost it's an enemies to lovers, slow burn that had me hooked from the first page to the last (I read it in one sitting). I honestly cant wait to explore the rest of the books in the series.
So if you want a romance that hits all the beats, captures your imagination and makes you feel lighter by the end - then check this one out! Zero regrets purchasing this one!
