After hours of listening, the ending came about literally within the last two minutes (I checked). I also kept waiting for a Macbeth parallel that didn’t come, which would have been so easy with a tweaking of the last few pages.
I don’t know who I would recommend this book to. I initially thought I would buy a copy for my mother in law, but with all the not-so-subtle political rhetoric around the environment, and character arcs that built so beautifully to end so suddenly, I feel that too much was set up, I was made to care too much, for it to end the way it did.
