Oh look, another mid quality Mercy book.
Smoke Bitten actually started out pretty strong. There's some demon/creature thing loose. When it bites people, it possesses them into murdering other people/themselves. It's pretty intense.
You wouldn't know it though, because you know what Briggs wants you to focus on? Adam and Mercy's relationship. It's been tough lately. They haven't been banging and Mercy is sure it's her fault. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 But don't worry, they do hook up...A LOT, and everyone knows it and talks to them about it. It's kinda gross the way everyone comments on their love life (even people outside of the pack). I can get get behind the pack commenting, dismiss it as like a werewolf culture thing, but other people. 🤮 It's weird and gross.
Anyway, Adam has something going on that freaks him out. Oh, and some new pack is in their territory and they aren't friendly. But who cares because girl needs to get laid. 🙄
Sometimes I just can't with this series. Why "nerf" the best plot line in this book for relationship melodrama? "Nudge." *Collapses in a cheesy, melodramatic swoon*
I don't know if I would recommend it, but if you are looking at this review, I don't think my opinion matters, you are going to keep going no matter what. Gotta finish the series or something.
Next book is Alpha &Omega. For some reason that series has such a better balance and definitely a better focus on the plot. *Knocks on every wood surface in my house,*
