This book is a cathartic, messy, gross, beautiful cry of queer resilience and solidarity in the face of bigotry and persecution. If you can stomach a bleak story full of body horror, this story rewards you with loveable, flawed characters, a unique take on the apocalypse, and one hell of a message to queer youth. Definitely read the content warnings though, no punches are pulled. I wish this was a series!
