Last To Die by James Grippando

3.0

Jack is asked to help Theo's brother, Tatum, when he is named in a will. Jack represents Tatum and finds out that the will leaves $46 million to whoever is left alive out of 6 people named in the will. The woman who died had been killed and it is unknown who the murdered is. One of the six has not been identified and the other 5 are all people who were connected to the dead woman and she didn't like them. They all start receiving threats and Tatum is accused of beating up one of the people. Jack isn't convinced his client had anything to do with it.
The woman's sister is in Africa and Jack and Theo go to visit her trying to get some answers. The woman had been attacked years before and her daughter killed and she then married a millionaire who subsequently died. The killer of her daughter was never caught and it haunted her. Jack is attracted to the woman's sister and also dealing with his feelings for his employee, the mother of the boy he is playing big brother to.
As the story progresses some of the named heirs are killed and Jack has concerns. He eventually has an idea who is the killer and goes about trying to prove it. He risks his life and Theo's.
Several twists in the story and it brings in some of Jack and Theo's history.
