This book has beautiful art. The inspiration of Hinduism (gods and traditional art) is ever present. Some spreads fall flat and don’t have much creativity behind them, but the ones that do show the artist’s potential fully.

The writing was flat. The rhymes didn’t work majority of the time and the rhythm of it fell apart multiple times.

I’m feeling the little inkling of trans joy in this children’s book. I wish it was tapped into a bit more. But it’s nice to see a supportive brown mother.

Overall, this book gives the aura that it was running on tight deadlines that didn’t give the artists time to fully shine.
