Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson

4.0

I think I'm a sucker for novels about complicated family relationships. This took me a while to finish reading because I do think the beginning was a little slow, but as more of Eleanor's story was revealed it picked up. I do wish a couple characters (Elly, Mathilda) were explored more. I'd love to learn more about them.

Overall, I enjoyed it and appreciate when authors can weave together multiple timelines and characters in a beautiful way.
