Book four in the Shattered Realms series, a spin-off of Seven Realms, picks up with all of the characters from the last book, as they try to put an end to the war that has ravaged the Fells for the last twenty-some years so to bring the kingdoms together in order to fight against the new and pending threat Celestine and her blood-slaves are bringing. Their numbers will devastate the lands and she will rule them all.

This one started off a little slow as the characters and situations were re-introduced, but it quickly sped up, twisting the characters' storylines until the end of the book, where the climax was a simple solution. It lacked drama, so it was too quick and simple. There should have been more and could have been a lot more that would've created a much more satisfying end to the book and the series. And I feel some of the characters didn't have enough closure in this book.

The 'conclusion' or what I would call the epilogue, was expected but it fell a little flat.

All in all, this was a great book and because there is a lot of violence, I don't think readers under 16 should pick up this book/series. There is romance and the two scenes are both done somewhat tastefully. You knew what the kissing was leading up to, but they closed the door, though one scene did toe over the line a little.
