An Impractical Guide to Satyr Charming by Cynthia Diamond

emotional funny mysterious fast-paced

4.0

I'm so glad I made time to read this book, finally! I won a copy from a GoodReads giveaway and it promptly kept getting pushed to the back burner, until several bookstagrammers I follow kept mentioning how much they enjoyed it, so I made a point to push it to the front of the queue. And it did not disappoint!

Ivy is a cottage witch who's lost her magic, and is reviving an old mansion in the woods in an effort to restore her powers. Finn and his brother Callum, are satyrs who've been squatting in the abandoned mansion for decades and have a deep-seated mistrust of all witches on principle (and rightfully so, we later learn). And thus starts a beautiful enemies-to-lovers tale that was so fun to read.

The supporting cast of characters--Ivy's twin brother Rowan, her aunts, the house itself--added fun color to the story, and seeded some fun for the next 2 books, which I can't wait for now! The world building is a lot of fun and I enjoyed that it was based in a modern day, very real universe.
