I don’t normally enjoy more realistic fiction, but I really, really enjoyed this one. The characters are relatable and memorable, but most of all three-dimensional and complex. They represent and give voice to people with a wide range of diverse struggles, and I applaud the author for taking so many perspectives into account. This book is not afraid to speak plainly about the current state of the world and how it treats people with disabilities, and the representation is done quite well. I look forward to reading more books from the author and exploring more lives that are different from my own.
