When Sorry Isn't Enough: Making Things Right with Those You Love by Jennifer Thomas, Gary Chapman

4.0

Very insightful. I have not considered, until recently, that there are different types of apologies. This book has opened my eyes and has given me insight not only into my expectations of what constitutes an apology but also the fact that not everyone has the same apology language. Not only that, I now understand how critical it is to be aware of the apology language spoken by others in my life. This book was easy to read - it was quick and readily flowed from one chapter to the next with helpful questions to ponder at the end of each chapter. I recommend that couples read this book together or at the very least take the apology language test provided in the book or online. Frankly, everyone can benefit from gaining some insights on the art of apologizing.

Do keep in mind that When Sorry Isn't Enough is a Christian based book. For me, only through Christ can I have the ability to set my selfishness aside in order to speak another person's apology language. But with that said, for the exception of one part, the authors did not embed scriptures into the book with high frequency.
