I genuinely don’t know what to think. Most of Mariana Zapatas love interests are not nice in the beginning, but Alex was a dick almost the entire time. He was so rude for really no reason. And Gracie kept blaming herself! That was very frustrating.

The world building was also really poor, which is kind of normal bc most of her books are character based. But with superheroes and aliens you really need a little more. The cartel stuff felt forced and there are so many unanswered questions.

By far the most egregious thing was the whole “mates” BS. I think MZ did her best to make it seem like Gracie still had all the choices, but there’s just no choices in that situation. It was so weird and unnecessary. And the whole baby thing brought that to another level.

My favorite part was the fact that when he took her flying they flew vertically, and the image in my head was way too funny.
