Looking for Alaska by John Green

4.0

The first John Green book I read was A Fault In Our Stars. Its very difficult to top that book and I definitely do not think he did it with Looking For Alaska. Yes, this is a good book but I am not very connected with the characters. I feel bad saying it but I did not like Alaska's character at all. Actually I didnt like most of the characters in the book. They all seemed incredibly stupid and selfish to me.. But maybe thats because they're teenagers and thats just how people are until they grow up...? Im not sure. I found Alaska hard to read about mostly because she puts off this "Im a cool kid" front but its not really who she is. Once you found out about her past it was easier to understand why she is the way she is because she has had a difficult life..but so have many other people. So I just dont know. I liked the book. Its a great story. Its sad. Thats a given in any of John Green's books. I will read his others. I hope they are either just as good or better.
