The Undiscovered Self: Answers to Questions Raised by the Present World Crisis by C.G. Jung

4.0

An exceptionally insightful work, considering that it was published in the late ’50s. It has relevancy and freshness still pertinent today - if not more so in many ways - than when it was first conceived and written.

When one considers the increasing fragility and disempowerment of the voice, rights and positioning of the individual within the framework of the globular mass that constitutes society in this “modern” age, you can but shudder at what the future holds in store for the human race.

We are facing a reckoning of our own collective making as we hurtle headlong toward a world that is gripped by a love affair with science and technology, coupled with declining social values and behaviour, that alienate us still further from our individuality, self-understanding and self-realisation.
