Burning Wild by Christine Feehan

My first Christine Feehan book. It was alright. There were some things I really liked about it but there were also things I didn’t like. All in all, I say this is decent but not something I’d re-read.
So Jake was abused by his parents, he’s a leopard shifter. They didn’t know this though they’d bred him hoping he’d be a leopard person, as the book calls them. He didn’t become a sociopath but he is pretty ruthless and calculating.
An awful woman tricked him into getting her pregnant. She does in a car wreck but the baby lives. The same wreck takes the life of another pregnant woman’s husband. Jake ends up eventually manipulating the situation so when his infant son is released from the hospital she goes with them. She runs the house and raises his son and her daughter. They do it as a family even though h (Emma) and Jake aren’t together. However he wants her. He doesn’t claim her though. He just keeps her around rearing the kids.
Medium burn, they sex it up at 52%. 3rd Person POV. No condoms, complete manwhore, h had only been with one before him, push away from h, slight OM drama, despite his manwhore ways no OW drama on page , no separation. No cheating once together officially, no cliffhanger and HEA.
Safety readers - he’s frequently banging lots of other women during this time frame. After they leave the hospital we flash forward so all his sexual antics with OW are in the past at this point but he’s had h, knowing he intended to have her as his the entire time. It’s pretty shitty, if you ask me. He has some inner thoughts about not wanting OW and feeling disgusted with himself but he never stops doing it so…
The h goes on a date with OM, she’s not really interested and nothing happens but it makes H big mad and jealous lol.
